New Beginnings

Boy! It has been such a long time since I have had the time to sit down and write. Lots has changed in the last few years...it has been an up and down struggle- but I am finally here. A college student. The wait is over! Nonetheless, the struggle is still apparent. I am currently studying Latin, which has captured my soul and intrigued my mind. My favorite class currently is Roman Civilization. They lived so simply, and dealt with some of the same issues unto which we struggle with today. Life has been put into perspective, after hearing the stories of heartbreak and sadness that plagued their life. No longer I am alone in my grief, but I share it with the people of the past and the present. In the meantime, readings for the class have me engrossed in Livy's "". I am only 50 pages in, but the stories are hard to believe. The best of life's stories though are hard to believe. The conflict, the struggle, and the drama-oh the drama- but through all of this, comes good things. My mind continues to go back to the story of Lucretia, a model Roman women, who through her pain ended the reign of Kings in Rome, and into the Empire-unto which Rome shown its brightest light. As I continue to read, I shall continue to write. In the meantime, it is Valentine's Day. Tu Amo, dear people of the world-now off to do what every other single women should do on Valentine's Day...eat lots of chocolate and watch sappy romantic comedies.
